Where can I watch a live stream of the VMAs?
This year, the VMAs will be doing live streams from Twitter through the MTV VMA Stan Cam. This will be an interactive viewing experience, allowing viewers to vote on which camera feeds they want to see.
On cable, the VMAs will be broadcast live on several channels such as MTV, MTV2, VH1, BET and Comedy Central. It will also be streamed online on MTV.com. For viewers who do not have access to cable, MTV and its associated channels are available on live TV streaming services such as DirecTV Now.
How is hosting the VMAs this year?
Stand-up comedian Sebastian Maniscalco is hosting the awards this year, according to the MTV website. Maniscalco originates from Chicago and has had supporting roles in movies such as The House, Nut Job 2 and Green Book.
As a stand-up, Maniscalco has performed at The Comedy Store, on Comedy Central and has his radio show on SiriusXM.
Who is performing at the VMAs?
Taylor Swift
The “Bad Blood” singer will be performing again at the VMAs, the first time since 2015. Swift will also be looking to take home awards for her hit “You Need To Calm Down” such as Best Song, Best Video and Best Pop Video.

Bad Bunny
The Puerto Rican rapper, whose smash hits include “Soy Peor”, “I Like It” and “Mia” will be performing at the VMAs. The rapper found fame after gaining popularity on Soundcloud, which resulted in him being signed to a record label. His most recent album, Oasis, is a collaboration with Colombian reggaeton singer, J Balvin.

Camila Cabello
The former Fifth Harmony singer is no stranger to the VMAs, after winning awards for her single “Havana.” This year, she is nominated for several awards for her collaboration with Shawn Mendes.

Known for his country rap “Old Town Road” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, this American rapper will be making his debut at the VMAs. He’s also up for eight awards including Video of the Year and Song of the Year.

Known for her body positivity advocacy and her talent as a flautist, Lizzo has gained mainstream attention since her third studio album Juice. She is nominated for VMA awards such as Push Artist of the Year and Best New Artist.

The Canadian singer, who has released smash hits such as “Stitches”, “Treat You Better” and “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” is nominated for five awards, including Artist of the Year. This will be his third performance at the VMAs.

Missy Elliot
Confirmed to receive the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award, Missy Elliot is the first female rapper to secure the honor. According to Billboard, she is the fourth rap artist overall to receive the video vanguard honor, following LL Cool J (1997), Beastie Boys (1998) and Kanye West (2015).
